Chingford sex predator Jake Wright jailed for nine years | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

Jake Wright, 29, of Dells Close, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 25.

He received nine years’ imprisonment, with four years on extended licence.

The Metropolitan Police were alerted to Wright in 2022 when the family of one of his teenage victims contacted them.

The Met established that the teen had been contacted by Wright over social media, where he offered to send her £12,000 if she sent him sexual photographs of herself.

He made another offer of more money if additional pictures were sent that included the teen’s friend.

Wright’s demands for images went on and when they refused to send him photos, they received threats from Wright in the form of photos of him with a gun and video calls.

The predator also threatened to send their explicit photos to their family and friends, a threat he later fulfilled.

An investigation was launched after the Met linked enquiries with a similar report made to West Midlands Police in March 2022, where Wright sexually exploited and threatened another teenage girl.

The court heard how Wright had threatened to kill his victim, sharing with her images of himself with firearms and bullets.

He gave her an ultimatum, telling her to come to London to have sex with him, to kill herself, or he would send the images of her to her family and friends.

Wright was also linked to another crime that had been reported to the City of London Police in October 2022.

He met a 17-year-old victim on Snapchat and their conversation turned sexual, with Wright asking for nude photos in exchange for money and later offering her £60,000 to meet him in a hotel.

When they met, Wright refused to pay the victim.

Det Con Samantha Thompson, of the Met’s specialist crime online child sexual abuse and exploitation unit, said: “I would like to commend the victims in this harrowing case, who have been truly traumatised by Wright.

“The memory of these horrific crimes will remain with them and their families for the rest of their lives. I hope this sentencing will bring them some peace.

“We will continue to do everything we can to ensure sexual predators who make our streets unsafe for women and girls are brought to justice.

“If you have been a victim of a sexual offence, we would urge you to speak to police so that you can get the support you deserve.”

Wright was arrested on October 21, 2022 and was charged with paying for sexual services of a child and causing sexual exploitation of a child.

Images of his victims were found on his phone and detectives established Wright’s social media accounts were the point of contact with all the teenagers.

He pleaded guilty to causing sexual exploitation of a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, paying for sexual services of a child, and making indecent photographs of a child on May 18, 2023.

On September 21 last year, he pleaded guilty to threats to kill.
