In an uncharacteristic outburst, Clemmie then pushed a dining stool into Dawn’s stomach, causing her to collapse.

Billy watched on in horror and arranged for Dawn to be rushed to A&E for a check-up.

While she was fine – at the end of the episode viewers saw her unlock the front door and then run away.

How long will it take for her family to realise she is missing?

Elsewhere Emmerdale fans were divided during Tuesday’s episode as Dan Spencer launched into a verbal attack on his daughter Amelia amid her stalker hell.

Mechanic Dan (Liam Fox) was arrested last week after he confessed to hitting Lloyd Sawyer (Matt Sutton) in a fit of anger after discovering the creepy man hanging around with his 16-year-old daughter Amelia (Daisy Campbell) after she attempted to make a name for herself on social media.

This week, Dan was seen stumbling around the village as he drowned his sorrows with alcohol.

Returning home a little worse for wear, Amelia confronted him, insisting they should get a lawyer to help them with their troubles.

Amelia’s idea did not go down well with Dan, prompting him to launch into an angry rant, telling her exactly what he thought of the situation.

He exclaimed: ‘You should have listened to me when I told you to stop those poxy videos but you didn’t, did you?! I warned you but you just carried on!

‘So you go on about me going to hospital and making things worse but I couldn’t make things worse if you’d listened to me in the first place, could I?!

‘Who brought him round in the first place? You!’

The moment divided viewers, with some astounded Dan had appeared to try and blame Amelia for her stalker ideal, while others were pleased he had told her exactly what he thought.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: ‘No way there’s folk that think Dan is right. That’s dangerously close to saying “you shouldn’t have gone out wearing that then!”‘

Someone else posted: ‘Dan you absolute idiot, it’s not Amelia’s fault this happened.’

While another person commented: ‘Dan those words to Amelia were extremely harsh.’

‘At long last, Dan speaks up and tells dopey daughter Amelia that it’s all her fault in the first place,’ wrote another viewer.

While someone else remarked: ‘Dan blaming Amelia. She needed taking down a peg or two.’

Another soap fan tweeted: ‘Well done Dan! Grown a backbone finally! Amelia needed telling!’

While someone else shared: ‘Dan is spot on with what he said to Amelia. Might of come across as aggressive but everything he said was spot on!’

It comes after Emmerdale fans were left fearing the worst for Dan Spencer on Friday night after he threatened to punch his daughter’s stalker Lloyd again days after attacking him.

Last week saw the mechanic arrested after he confessed to hitting Lloyd in a fit of anger after discovering the creepy man hanging around with his 16-year-old daughter Amelia.

And while his loved ones had advised him to lay low after he was released on bail, a guilty Dan made the situation worse as he visited Lloyd in hospital, where he bumped into the victim’s wife Julie.

After Julie (Emma Stansfield) had initially mistaken him for the person who gave her husband CPR, the penny soon dropped for her about Dan’s true identity and an argument soon ensued.

But as Dan gave Julie some home truths about her stalker husband, things got heated between them resulting in Dan shouting that he’d punch Lloyd again if he had to.

Viewers watching the show were quick to berate the hapless character for putting his foot in it, with one declaring they couldn’t believe he could ‘be anymore stupid’ for putting himself in that situation.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: ‘That isn’t gonna help, Dan.’

While another said: ‘Dan if you know what is best for you you’ll stay away.’

‘Well done, Dan. Moron’ tweeted a third sarcastic watcher.

A fourth viewer observed: ‘Dan you’re making things a whole lot worse.’

With another adding: ‘omfg I didn’t think Dan could be anymore stupid until he said he’d do it again to Lloyd’s frickin wife in front of witnesses!’

The tense scenes saw Dan initially apologetic over his actions before becoming angry when Julie insisted that her husband wouldn’t prey on young girls.

As Julie accused him of coming to ‘finish off’ her husband, Dan lashed out and declared that it wasn’t him who was the monster, before branding Lloyd a ‘sexual predator’.

Security soon arrived, but as Julie called Dan a ‘liar’, he shot back and declared Lloyd was a ‘pervert’ before going on a rant that could potentially land him in hot water again.

While being escorted out by security, the livid father exclaimed: ‘He had it coming, I’d do it again if I have to!’

Dan faces the prospect of a life behind bars after a single punch left daughter Amelia’s stalker fighting for his life.

In Wednesday’s episode, Lloyd was left with serious injuries after Dan landed a blow during a ‘moment of madness’.

Dan lost his temper after confronting Lloyd about stalking his daughter, but now he finds himself in a police cell awaiting an uncertain future.

Amelia was stalked by Lloyd, who had sent her creepy comments online after she tried to make a name for herself on social media.

After Lloyd turned up to the salon and sent a note to her house, the worried hairdresser was confided in her father.

The episode saw a protective Dan try to take the law into his own hands and warn Lloyd off his daughter.

His action led to drastic consequences for both him and Lloyd.

Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX on Thursday at 7.30pm.
