
LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO)– Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is alerting drivers to expect more State Troopers working on the roads.
According to CSP, State Troopers will be conducting surge patrols in Larimer County on Tuesday, August 8, looking for unrestrained drivers in an effort to reduce injuries in the event of a crash.
This comes after CSP Troop 3C investigated five fatal crashes and 42 crashes where people were injured from no or improper restraint use.
CSP reported I-25 in Larimer County is the road with the most crashes with 36 cases, followed by Highways 287 and 34 with 15 cases involving crashes.
Other roads in Larimer County accounted for another 129 injury crashes, according to CSP.
CSP stated Troopers will also be looking for careless driving habits which cause crashes, such as speeding, following too closely, and drifting out of lanes.
In addition to the surge patrols, Troopers will be also be conducting child safety seat inspections.

Inspections will be available from 9-1 p.m. on August 8, at the Colorado State Patrol Troop 3C office located at 3823 South I-25, Fort Collins.
