The Cray supercomputer that was used to shoot-down of a potentially dangerous stray satellite in 2008 has been decommissioned at Sandia National Lab.

“Red Storm,” a massively parallel processing supercomputer, said Sandia, was part of NNSA’s Advanced Simulation & Computing (ASC) supercomputer program and gathered a series of world computing records.
