Convicted sex offender Adam Lorne Smith, 58, of 1146 W. Fourth St., has been arrested on four felony counts of failure to comply with registration requirements between mid-October 2022 and last February, it was alleged in a city police affidavit filed at Biichle’s office. Investigators allege Smith moved to — or temporarily stated at — two city addresses without notifying state police within three business days as he is required to do so by law because he has been designated “as a lifetime” sexually violent predator, police said. At one point, he told an investigator “I know I haven’t done it (registered) for a while,” and that “I know I have a 72-hour window,” the affidavit stated. He has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $85,000 bail.
