
NEW SALEM, Ill. (KHQA) — Authorities said a convicted sex offender from Illinois was arrested after an ongoing investigation by the Pittsfield Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department said Chief Deputy Zack Orr and Pittsfield Assistant Chief of Police Jennifer Thompson conducted a traffic stop in New Salem shortly before noon on Wednesday in connection to the investigation.
Dakota L. Henry, 23, the driver of a multi-colored 2004 Chevrolet SUV, was arrested on the following charges:
- Unlawful possession of methamphetamine
- DUI – any amount of drug
- Failure to register as a sex offender
- Two counts of endangering the life or health of a child
Henry was arrested without incident is n the Pike County Jail.
