A convicted sex offender has been charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court after he was accused of having internet contact with a 15-year-old girl.

Jason Alan Sanders faces felony counts of exposing a child to harmful material and failure to register as a sex offender.

According to the criminal complaint, the Greenfield Police Department in Milwaukee County contacted La Crosse police Oct. 2 and said Sanders used a Facebook account to transmit a sexually explicit photo to the girl Sept. 5 and Sept. 15. The complaint says he also discussed the possibility of meeting at a park near the girl’s residence.

Sanders was convicted in 1995 of first-degree sexual assault of a child in Jefferson County. A condition of his release was that he inform authorities of all his online accounts. The complaint says he failed to report the Facebook account used to contact the girl.
