Astonished soap fans have been commenting on Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver’s new look after she lost weight. The actor, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street, put some new snaps on Instagram.
The TV star had just had her makeup done by This Morning makeup artist Bryony Blake before showing off her new look. Sue said: “What a treat to have my makeup done by the hugely talented Bryony Blake – thank you.”
But fans and celebrity friends were all saying the same thing – that the actress “looks younger” than ever before and “amazing”, YorkshireLive reports. Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley said: “You look incredible.”
Another soap star, Tony Maudsley added: “George’s pink lady.” One fan said: “I’m currently watching you on episodes of Corrie from 20 years ago…you look younger now.” @janemallexander said: “Oh my God!!! You look amazing.” Another Instagram user, @merciercherri, said: “Cannot believe how fit and well you look. You’re my inspiration as I too am diabetic and trying to be healthier.” @peterconway60 said: “Well done Sue, you’re looking fab.” “She looks absolutely gorgeous,” @cameron_june said.

Sue has been on the Coronation Street cobbles since 2000. The soap legend grew in popularity when she appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here… Sue took time off and headed into the Australian jungle. She was the third celebrity to be axed from the show. Sue admitted to shedding pounds in the jungle. It comes after back in February Sue insisted she’s “not obsessed over diets” as she reflected on the unfair expectations placed on women as she covered March’s Prima.
The actress displayed her slimmed-down figure in a glamorous shoot to accompany the interview as she declared she would never promote any weight-related products as women have “enough difficulties as it is”. She return to acting earlier this year. Sue has also been documenting her weight loss journey after she collapsed on set in 2011.
Sue said she took up the Mediterranean diet which involves cutting out high-sugar foods in favour of more whole foods and healthy fats. As well as ditching sugar, Sue has apparently cut out gluten from her diet as well.
