JAMMU, Sept 11: A 5-day course on “investigation of cyber crimes” began here at Sher-e-Kasmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur.
A statement said that one of the key objectives of the course is to improve the knowledge and skills of the participants while investigating the cyber crimes and cyber frauds.
During the course period, the participant officers will understand the implications of cyber crime and legal measures to counter it besides understanding the cyber forensic and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for investigation of the cyber crime cases.
During the inaugural function of the course today, SSP Rajinder Gupta, Deputy Director, SKPA was the chief guest.
Addressing the participants, he gave an overview of the cyber crimes like cyber bullying, stalking, online job fraud, phishing, ransomware, works, virus, and Trojans, cyber squatting, crypto jacking and espionage.
The police officer called for an urgent requirement of equipping the law enforcement officials with knowledge of investigating the virtual crimes.
During the next few days, eminent speakers from reputed universities, professionals from cyber police station Jammu, Nayeem Abbas Hamdani, cyber consultant and faculty members from SKPA will deliver lectures on the cyber crimes.
The inaugural session was attended by Ashish Gupta, DySP, Assistant Director, and other senior officers of SKPA.
Inspector Rohit Gupta, assisted by HC Randip Singh, is coordinating the course.
