Cyber Crimes a Concern to GOP Candidate for Iowa Attorney General

Sioux City, Iowa (ABC9 News)- Eight term Iowa Attorney General tom miller is facing an election day challenge from a Siouxland native.

West Sioux High School graduate Adam Gregg is a Drake Law School graduate with private practice experience and for the last 2 legislative session served as legislative liaison to Governor Terry Branstad.
Gregg stopped by the ABC9 studios Wednesday and says beefing up the states ability to fight cyber crime is a big part of his platform.

“I’ve talked about creating a division inside the attorney generals office focused on fighting cyber crime,” said Gregg.  “That happens to be a contrast in this race because the current attorney general doesn’t even use email.  Now if you don’t use even that most basic form of technology, how are you going to handle the most complex types of financial fraud that can occur online?”

Gregg says the types of crimes that used to happen door to door now happen in our “in box” on line and Iowa isn’t keeping up.

With the exception of a 4 year span when democrat Tom Miller returned to private practice, the incumbent has served as attorney general since 1978.
