The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Technology Development Expert.Job Summary: This applicant will be a primary driver of the Homeland Protection Mission Area through knowledge of the field, reputation in the community, and strategic thinking to develop future directions.
- Provide thought leadership and technical expertise in the advancement and application of mission assurance for enterprise networks and mission systems, full spectrum cyber operations and big data problems such as cyber situational awareness. Lead multiple, simultaneous development projects. (40%)
- Develop new business and form strategic alliances with key sponsors in the Defense, Intelligence and Government communities. (30%)
- Provide technical leadership in helping the sector build a coherent vision and supporting strategies, and executing them to deliver critical contributions. (20%)
- Serve on national level boards to help advance national security. (10%)
B.S. or M.S. in a technical discipline such as computer science, mathematics, physics or electrical engineering, and at least 15 years of related experience. Strategic thinker with systems engineering experience and the ability to integrate ideas from multiple disciplines. Proven track record in developing new concepts. Excellent speaking and writing skills and experience in effectively communicating to both technical and non-technical audiences. Must possess a TS security clearance.
