We have an opening for a Cyber Security and Risk Analyst to independently and collaboratively perform risk assessments of cloud service offerings and assist with organizing and leading the cyber intelligence initiative for DOE/LLNL. This position is in the Cyber Security Program (CSP) within the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) in the Computation Directorate.

Essential Duties
– Assess and quantify cyber security risks.

– Develop utilities to automate detection, assessment, and categorization of cyber security intelligence using appropriate technologies such as Perl, Python, PHP, and Bash.
– Provide advanced computer programming and/or related technical support for CSP, while working with diverse teams and tight deadlines.
– Plan and/or execute project plans, meetings, and metric gathering.
– Analyze and interpret complex data to assess cloud service risks in relation to LLNL security posture.
– Design and implement new methodology and procedures to automate risk assessments.
– Apply National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards knowledge to cloud service assessments using Risk Management Framework.
– Provide advanced technical assistance, training, or mentoring to others in area of cyber security.
– Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in a Computer or Engineering related field or equivalent combination of education, technical training and related experience.
– Demonstrated ability to work independently to effectively handle concurrent technical tasks with conflicting priorities in order to implement research concepts in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
– Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute to creative solutions to complex problems.
– Broad and in-depth knowledge of one or more of cyber security, nation state adversaries, and federal compliance and regulations.
– Advanced knowledge of cloud computing methodologies and risks, including basic understanding of FedRamp.
– Ability to travel off-site, including internationally, for sponsor and customer interaction.
– Effective interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate, negotiate and influence all levels of personnel.
– Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and present and explain technical information.
Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
Anticipated Clearance Level:  Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.
Note:   This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
