Still recovering from a May ransomware attack that closed a number of vital city services, Dallas is putting up $4 million for an improved cyber-security system.

On Wednesday, the Dallas city council approved the deal to acquire a system that will alert the city’s IT department of possible hacks.

The Houston-based technology service provider Netsync Network Solutions is getting the contract to provide City Hall with a threat and anomaly detection system for three years.

The contract provides for around the clock security monitoring.
