LOS ANGELES, CA — A convicted sex offender and suspect in an October 30th murder investigation who may also suffer from mental illness remains at large and should be considered violent and dangerous, the Los Angeles Police Department warned Thursday.
LAPD detectives asked for the public’s help Thursday in tracking down Jacob William James McFadden, 28. On Oct. 30 at about 7:40 p.m., McFadden assaulted a 59- year-old man at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Kingsley Drive, according to police. Witnesses intervened to stop the attack, but the suspect fled before he could be arrested.
Authorities did not say what led up to the attack.
The victim later died from his injuries at the hospital on Nov. 6, police said. Police witheld his name pending notification of next of kin.
According to police, McFadden is described as a 6-foot-1-inche tall Black man, weighing 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and tattoos on his chest, left shoulder and near his right eye.
Anyone with information about McFadden is urged to call LAPD Detective Allen Hsiao at 213-382-9470 or the LAPD’s tipline at 877-527-3247 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
