Data Security Architect

Job Summary:

We are searching for a Data Security Architect – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of IDS information assets; and protecting them from unauthorized disclosure, modification, and destruction.

  • Develops Security Policy and provides Compliance Reporting
  • Develops Information Security Strategy
  • Coordinates Security implementations across IS disciplines and user departments
  • Architects, implements, and documents Security Infrastructure
  • Establishes DRBCP architecture and solutions
  • Advocates for security awareness and training
  • Manages complex customer interactions, regulatory changes, and innovations appropriately
  • Develops and promotes the Information Security Strategic Plan and IDS Information Security Policies
  • Audits compliance with Security Policies
  • Leads remediation initiatives
  • Monitors organization and IS administrators’ compliance to established Security policy
  • Publishes quarterly vulnerability reviews to IS Management
  • Identifies, tracks, and manages outstanding vulnerabilities
  • Performs complex incident forensics spanning IDS
  • Performs confidential investigations such as HR events, internal security, and “need to know” situations


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information assurance or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in information security or networking
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, four years of related experience may be substituted. CISSP or SANS certification is preferred
  • Knowledge of technical platforms and network/communications systems
  • Knowledge of risk analysis of computer network systems and applications with Management level reporting
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing
  • Knowledge of system security development and implementation
  • Knowledge of computer forensic analysis
  • Knowledge of government and regulatory guidelines such as PCI, GLB, SarbOx, HIPAA
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and communicate solutions to diverse audiences, including executive management, technicians, and end-users
  • Ability to operate independently within the framework of IDS policies and procedures
  • Ability to plan, initiate, and manage complex projects with management reporting and project tracking
  • Ability to establish the credibility of Data Security and positively influence the direction of Information Services
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic analysis and planning
  • Ability to educate new employees and supervisors
  • Ability to develop and implement security certification procedure
  • Specialization as demonstrated by completion of accredited curriculum in 1 or more areas: HIPAA, PCI, Sarbanes Oxley, Graham Leach Bliley, Computer Forensics, Endpoint Protection, Wireless/Mobility, Internet, Remote Access
