On the other hand, “protocols” are the rules that govern communication between these nodes. Imagine protocols as the road signs and traffic signals in our city that ensure smooth traffic flow. One of the most critical protocols is IP (Internet Protocol), responsible for addressing and routing data packets between nodes.
