The Des Moines School District has canceled classes for Tuesday, Jan. 10, due to a cyber-security incident.The district says it needs to cancel school because a lot of the technology used in classrooms and in operations is currently not working.DMPS said it took its internet and network services offline on Monday morning because of unusual activity on the network. The district hasn’t said what it found or if it impacted any data.District IT staff and consultants were called to investigate and assess the issue. The district says its telephone service was not impacted.DMPS offices will stay open on Tuesday, but some staff may work remotely, and services will be limited.Athletics and other activities are still scheduled to take place.This is a developing story.
