• Job DescriptionMinimum Qualifications:
    • Responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide data security compliance for Kootenai Health and possibly other business affiliates. This oversight is to ensure that data security policies and standards are followed in accordance with federal\state laws\regulations. Oversees the security team that ensures security systems (IDS, IPS, SIEM etc.) are well-maintained and functioning and will alert of any possible threats to patient data and significantly mitigate the risk of data security intrusion or leakage. Promotes security awareness across the organization through training and education of clinical and business units. Recommends budgets and plans for security enhancements and purchases. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A high degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Master’s Degree in IT or CS or Data Security\Assurance
    • Minimum 8 years’ work experience in IT networks and/or security systems required.
    • CISSP
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in IT security program, maintenance and creation.
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in information systems security management or securing computer networks required.
    • Detailed familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, and other rules and regulations surrounding the IT Security Community and hospitals.
    • Must demonstrate a proven track record of collaborative problem solving.
    • Must clearly articulate a fiscally responsible vision that delivers a future state of IT security that significantly mitigates risk.
    • Advanced level knowledge of network security including technologies such as VPN, URL filtering, firewalls, antivirus/antimalware systems, network forensics.
    • Minimum 8 years’ training staff on network and information security procedures

Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements):

      • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
      • Majority of shift spent sitting.
      • No or very limited physical effort required.
      • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
      • Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.
      • Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.

Work Environment:

  • Kootenai health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
