Status: Exempt Position: Director of Information Technology Job Overview : This position is responsible for assisting guest and employees with any technical needs. They will also provide direct guest support to function rooms and conference services. The Director of IT will ensure that all critical systems are available 24 hours per day. They will establish and maintain user and system security procedures consistent with control requirements and corporate policy. Maintain effective support for end user support process, other systems, including back office, sales & catering and human resources applications or any other property application. Reports to : Area Director of Finance at The Beverly Hills Hotel & Hotel Bel-Air, and The Vice President of Information Technology for The Dorchester Collection. Standard Specifications : Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities and aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Travel required. Qualifications – Essential : Ten years’ experience in Hotel/Hospitality IT. Minimum two years’ experience as a Hotel Director of IT. College degree in related field. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all levels of management. Experience with Active Directory, Servers, and Windows preferred. A+ certification preferred. Micros and Opera Systems knowledge preferred. Good command of the English language both verbal and written. Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States. Proven experience with Cisco VOIP including UCCE, OPERA, all current Microsoft Operating Systems (desktops and servers) and applications including SharePoint, Exchange, and Citrix Xenapp/XenDesktop. Qualifications – Desirable : Ability to communicate in Spanish. Skills – Essential : Ability to facilitate the prioritization of projects and requirements among competing business interests. Must be energetic, flexible, innovative, adaptable, team oriented, and self-motivated. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organizations. Possess the ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to respond to difficult and stressful situations in a professional, efficient, effective and positive manner. Ability to assume responsibility for independent/self-directed action. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, manage and carry out simultaneously a variety of complex projects and tasks. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings. Understand interdependencies of business systems used within the organization. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with some travel to different sites; may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends and may be required to travel outside hotel boundaries to attend meetings. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent exposure to smoking and loud environments. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for network support and security of hotel network. This position does require an applicant with a flexible schedule, able to work morning/afternoon/ evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
