Job Overview :

This position is responsible for assisting guest and employees with any technical needs. They will also provide direct guest support to function rooms and conference services.  The Director of IT will ensure that all critical systems are available 24 hours per day. They will establish and maintain user and system security procedures consistent with control requirements and corporate policy. Maintain effective support for end user support process, other systems, including back office, sales & catering and human resources applications or any other property application.

Reports to :

Area Director of Finance at The Beverly Hills Hotel & Hotel Bel-Air, and The Vice President of Information Technology for The Dorchester Collection.

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities and aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Travel required.

Qualifications – Essential :

Ten years’ experience in Hotel/Hospitality IT.  Minimum two years’ experience as a Hotel Director of IT. College degree in related field.  Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all levels of management.  Experience with Active Directory, Servers, and Windows preferred.  A+ certification preferred.  Micros and Opera Systems knowledge preferred.  Good command of the English language both verbal and written.  Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States.     Proven experience with Cisco VOIP including UCCE, OPERA, all current Microsoft Operating Systems (desktops and servers) and applications including SharePoint, Exchange, and Citrix Xenapp/XenDesktop.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with some travel to different sites; may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends and may be required to travel outside hotel boundaries to attend meetings.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.    Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.  Frequent exposure to smoking and loud environments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for network support and security of hotel network.  This position does require an applicant with a flexible schedule, able to work morning/afternoon/ evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Spend one on one time with your team members individually and as a group to establish collaborative goals, discuss vision and ensure they are getting what they need.
Extensive understanding and education of team on regulatory, SOX, PCI and other compliance related requirements and controls; creation and adherence of processes to align accordingly.
Collaboration and extensive communication with property leadership team and the Global IT team on enterprise and property projects as well as IT operations.
Active participant in strategic and operational planning and execution for The Beverly Hills Hotel & Hotel Bel-Air.
Ensure all systems are monitored, functioning and patched accordingly.
Direct technological research.
Provide project direction and leadership.
Plan and lead system audits of technologies implemented.
Implement disaster recovery, back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Recommend information technology strategies, policies and procedures
Prepare an annual budget; schedules expenditures; analyzes variances; initiates corrective action
Manage and negotiate 3rd party vendor contracts and relationships
Establish and maintain appropriate system monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
Perform leadership responsibilities including recruitment, training, disciplinary action.
Utilize tools, create, and adhere to processes and continuously promote team member awareness on data security.
Ensure basic standards are being followed by end users and IT team.
Training and mentoring for IT team members.
Conduct root cause analysis, identify and execute resolution of recurring issues.
Creation, reconciliation and adherence to operational and capital budget for department.
Interface with vendors, executing The Dorchester Collection.
This is a non-uniformed position, which requires the team member be in compliance with non-uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
