Director of Information Technology and Systems

Job Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision, the director will:

a. Oversee the activities of the Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) departments.
b. Manage and develop staff in order to effectively meet the demands of a busy community health center
c. Implement the strategic direction developed by the senior leadership team and as outlined in the health center’s strategic plan
d. Develop and implement institutional policies for information services and technology
e. Serve as a member of a management team that implements operational procedures and management of the organizational budget
f. Works collaboratively with medical staff and other departments to ensure that the goals of high quality, culturally competent healthcare are met
g. Manages projects and serves as a member of project teams
h. Be part of a busy, diverse and dynamic work environment

A minimum of five to ten years in an ambulatory or inpatient clinical setting is desired.  A minimum of five years of management experience is required.   Must be experienced in managing technical staff such as help desk, desktop support and network engineering staff.   The director will also be responsible for presenting project updates, process changes and other information to wide array of different audiences.  The director must be an effective communicator.

The director will possess a bachelor’s degree in a business or technology related field.  A master’s degree or other advanced degree in business or technology related field is preferred.   CISSP, MCSE and CCNA certifications desired but not required.  ector must be familiar with the following technologies:

a. Microsoft Windows 2008/2012 Server environments
b. Advanced Cisco networking concepts
c. Microsoft Hyper-V or other virtualization solution
d. NetApp or EqualLogic storage area networks
e. Wireless networks and controllers
f. Unified communication solutions
g. Maintenance of database systems such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL
h. Electronic medical record systems (inpatient or outpatient)
i. Networking monitoring tools

Work Schedule
40 hours a week. Evenings and weekend work will be required based on health center needs.
