WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT

Two teenagers have been arrested and police are on the hunt for a third person after a video was posted online showing the group allegedly beat a bird to death.

The teens, aged 18 and 13, were with a group fishing from a wharf at Walsh Bay on March 9, when the cormorant became caught on a fishing line.

A witness began filming as the animal was dragged across the concrete.

The teens allegedly repeatedly kicked and stabbed the bird before another teenager allegedly killed it by stomping on its head.

In the footage the group can be heard laughing as others carry out the alleged attack. They can also be heard egging each other, saying “good boy” and “take him bro”.
