Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember military personnel who died in the course of defending the United States. However, and unfortunately, it has become a weekend more associated with drinking and deadly vehicle accidents than its original purpose.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says once again state troopers will be out in force over the Memorial Day weekend targeting those who are driving drunk or dangerously.
Additionally, with the Texas Department of Transportation’s yearly Click It or Ticket Campaign underway, troopers will also be looking for those who are driving without wearing seatbelts, or have young children not properly restrained or not in child safety seats.
