RALEIGH, N.C. — Durant Road Middle School in Raleigh was evacuated Friday after a threat there.
An alert on the school website and a message to parents, began “First, please know that all students are safe.”
The school described the evacuation and the presence of law enforcement on campus as “a precautionary measure.”
Students, teachers and staff were taken to fire drill locations for safety, and dismissal was delayed until about 3:40 p.m.
After the all-clear was issued, students were asked to return home without returning inside to allow for a complete search to be finished.
“If there is anything you need this weekend, you will need to return between 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today,” the school website read.
