dx⁵ has designed a new event experience – the Africa CISO Summit 2024. Set to be a watershed moment for cybersecurity in the region, the Africa CISO Summit has so far attracted visionaries, thought leaders, and award-winning decision-makers such as Engr. Harrison Nnaji, the Group CISO at First Nigerian Bank, Favour Femi-Oyewole, Group CISO + DPO, Access Bank Plc, Celia Mantshiyane, CIO, MTN South Africa (SA), Prasanna Burri, CIO/CISO, Dangote Group and Thelma Kganakga, Group CISO, Equity Group Holdings plc.

The Summit is in partnership with Cybertech, “Cyber ecosystem’s foremost networking platform, conducting industry-related events all around the globe,” and newcomer AfricaHackOn, a “Cybersecurity collective dedicated to fostering excellence through research, capacity building, and development of a strong community of experts in Africa.”

Attendees will converge on 20-21 March 2024 at Radisson Blu Upperhill, Nairobi, Kenya to chart the course of cybersecurity across the rapidly evolving African digital landscape. This summit offers an unparalleled platform for thought leadership, networking, and showcasing cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions. With Africa’s cybersecurity investments surging at an impressive 11.7 per cent growth rate and a projected market value of $3.54 billion by 2028, the Summit arrives at a crucial juncture. Industry leaders will have a singular opportunity to position themselves as strategic partners for African organisations.

It Is All About People

Gartner research shows that “Over 90 per cent of employees who admitted undertaking a range of unsecured actions during work activities knew that their actions would increase the risk to the organisation,” yet did so anyway. This research adds that “By 2025, nearly half of cybersecurity leaders will change jobs, 25 per cent for different roles entirely due to multiple work-related stressors” accelerated by the pandemic and staffing shortages across the industry. All while making a case for managing challenging and stressful jobs in cultures where they are supported. And, by 2026, 70 per cent of boards will include one member with cybersecurity expertise with cybersecurity leaders to be recognized as business partners.

Day 1: 20 March will feature Cybersecurity Leadership & Risk Management; Day 2: 21 March will feature Application Security & Cybersecurity Operations. The latter will kick off with a live demonstration of a real-time hack. Some of the top cybersecurity trends in the CISO Summit agenda will include artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), IoT, cloud computing, identity and access management (IAM), leadership and data privacy and security.

Who Will Benefit from Attending?

With cybersecurity identified as one of the biggest trends in digital transformation in 2024, it is expected that tech leaders from CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers), CIOs (Chief Information Officers), IT security managers and directors, Risk Management Officers, compliance and regulatory officers to Data Protection Officers, government officials and cybersecurity policymakers are expected in attendance.

The two-day summit will provide attendees with exceptional exposure to Africa’s cybersecurity leadership, opportunities to showcase innovative products and services and foster meaningful connections with key industry influencers. It will explore critical advancements shaping cybersecurity by providing insights into the security implications of IoT and cloud computing, leaving guests with strategies for navigating an ever-evolving digital landscape.
