The Edgefield County School District will be conducting active shooter drills this week.
On Wednesday, Strom Thurmond High School and J-E-T Middle School will be the site of an active shooter drill from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
Members of local and regional law enforcement will conduct the drill and utilize a law enforcement helicopter.
Edgefield County students will return back to the classroom on Monday, Oct. 16.
