An Edgewood Independent School District Police Department officer was arrested this month, accused of assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute.
Juan Christopher Macias was arrested at his Northwest Side residence on Nov. 8 and charged with assault in connection with an incident that occurred a day earlier. He was released on a $2,500 bond, court records show.
His wife told deputies that he attempted to “antagonize” her and pulled her hand forcefully, causing her to “launch off the sofa” and land on a table, according to a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office report.

According to her account, she was lying on the couch and talking to a friend on the phone when Macias came home from a night out with friends, stood over her and began “screaming obscenities and derogatory remarks,” then grabbed her hand holding the phone and squeezed it hard before pulling her off the couch, the report states.
She filed the complaint the next day. Medical personnel evaluated injuries to her hand, wrist and knee, but she refused medical treatment, the report states.
Macias has been placed on administrative duties, Edgewood ISD said in a prepared statement.
“In response to events involving Officer Macias, he is going through a challenging situation involving a personal matter,” the statement said. “According to his attorney, Officer Macias has provided additional context, contradicting the allegations.”
His attorney, Andrew Del Cueto, declined comment. An arraignment has been scheduled for Dec. 11. Court records show Macias is prohibited from possessing firearms.
