Edwardsville man faces felony over revoked driver’s license | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey


EDWARDSVILLE — Two men in Madison County are charged with failure to register as a sex offender, while an Edwardsville man is charged with a felony related to a revoked driver’s license.

Michael A. Masiero, 62, listed as homeless out of Wood River, was charged Oct. 5 with unlawful failure to register as a sex offender (second subsequent offense), a Class 2 felony.

The case was presented by the Wood River Police Department.

According to court documents, on Oct. 1 Masiero failed to register with the Wood River Police Department.

It was noted he has a prior conviction for failure to register as a sex offender out of Madison County in 2012.

According to the Illinois State Police sex offender database, he is listed as a noncompliant sexual predator.

According to the database, he has a felony conviction for aggravated criminal sex abuse and violation of the sex offender registration act out of Madison County. The victim was 14 at the time of the offense, and Masiero was 35.

He was ordered released.

In a separate case, Jeffrey A. Hollenback, 38, of the 2600 block of Watalee, Alton, was charged with unlawful failure to register as a sex offender, a Class 2 felony.

The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.

According to court documents, on Sept. 29 Hollenback failed to register with the Alton Police Department.

According to the ISP sex offender database, he is listed as a sexual predator.

He has a prior conviction for aggravated sexual abuse out of Madison County.

The victim was 68 at the time of the offense, and he was 34.

Hollenback also has several pending felony charges, including theft over $500 from a place of worship, a Class 2 felony, and criminal damage to property over $500, a Class 3 felony, filed Feb. 15; domestic battery (second subsequent offense), filed in August 2022; and failure to register as a sex offender (second subsequent offense), a Class 2 felony.

He was ordered released.

In a separate case, Matthew A. Troeckler, 36, of the 1400 block of Eberhart Avenue, Edwardsville, was charged with driving while license revoked, a Class 4 felony.

The case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department.

According to court documents, on Sept. 2 Troeckler was found to be driving a vehicle on Monroe Street, Edwardsville, with a revoked driver’s license.

It was noted the license was revoked due to a prior conviction for DUI and he has prior convictions for driving while license revoked in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014.

He was ordered released

These individuals have only been charged and remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. All charges may not be reported.
