Northern Light Health’s electronic medical records are back online after servers were compromised over the weekend.Despite the hack of its servers, Northern Light Health officials say patient recorders were not leaked. During the hack, Northern Light says they took patient records systems offline while they started to investigate the server breach.Northern Light Health hospitals remained open while servers were down. The health system said patient care was not affected, adding that staff trains for situations like this.The decision to take down patient records was made out of an abundance of caution.A statement from Northern Light Health said in part: “Our teams have worked around the clock this weekend to conduct a thorough review of our servers and ensure they are in working order. We are continuing this work and are pleased to share our electronic medical record went back online this afternoon. This has been a big job, and our focus, as always, continues to be patient safety and privacy.”Patients looking at electronic medical records may experience delays as routine processes might still be slower than normal.
