The Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (Embrapii) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) will create a Competence Center in Cybersecurity in Brazil. The Call to accredit the ICT is carried out in partnership with the MCTI, with resources from the PPI IoT/Manufacturing 4.0 Priority Program, within the scope of the Informatics Law (ICTs Law). The selected company will have access to resources to develop, in 42 months, knowledge, education and qualification of labor for Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) activities of strategic technologies for the segment.

Disruptive centers
Embrapii announced on 05/24 the first three Embrapii Competence Centers in technological frontier areas. With an investment of BRL 180 million, these locations will be responsible for research and skills training in sectors with innovative trends. The National Telecommunications Institute – Inatel, in Santa Rita do Sapucaà (MG), will be responsible for the Embrapii Competence Center in the area of 5G and 6G Connectivity Technology and Infrastructure. The Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence at the Federal University of Goiás (CEIA-UFG), in Goiânia (GO), will be the Embrapii Competence Center in Immersive Technologies Applied to Virtual Worlds. And the CPQD (Telecommunications Research and Development Center), in Campinas (SP), will take care of the Embrapii Competence Center in Open RAN (Open Radio Access Networks).
