An unidentified group of hackers announced that they had hacked into the servers of the United Arab Emirates government, issuing a ransom demand for 150 bitcoins (about 8,7 million dollars) with a deadline of six days. In a post circulated on the hacking discussion site “BreachForums”, the group claimed to have access to a wide range of sensitive information from various ministries and key government bodies in the Gulf country.

Hackers they would have obtained the data of employees of numerous bodies such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Central Bank of the Emirates, the Emirates Space Agency and many others. The group has demanded a ransom of approximately $8,7 million, threatening to sell and leak the data if payment is not made. From the Emirati side, there has been no official comment on the incident.
