Job Summary
UK HealthCare Information Technology Services has posted the Enterprise Data Specialist role. This position will play a critical role in the transformational change at UK Healthcare to enable advanced analytics and business intelligence to function as core infrastructure in support of data as a strategic asset. The Enterprise Data Specialist participates as a resource in the Performance Analytics Center of Excellence and Enterprise Data Warehouse functions of UKHC.
This role serves as the subject matter expert in data analysis, data modeling, data exploration, and data visualization and in the sources, business rules and availability of data for analysis. The role keeps abreast of the rapidly changing industry requirements and facilitates the maturation of UK HealthCare in the use of data for strategic initiatives. The Data Specialist is responsible for maintenance and enhancement of analytical data products, and will provide analytical application guidance and data analysis to business analysts and end users.
UK HealthCare is a comprehensive healthcare system consisting of the medical, nursing, health sciences, public health, dental and pharmacy patient care activities of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and in several off-site locations. UK HealthCare is expanding through the construction of a new hospital and potential future acquisitions. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Qualified candidates must have demonstrated experience in decision support, data analysis methodologies such as statistical analysis and/or data modeling and data exploration and visualization. This individual must have knowledge of project management methodologies and practices as well as strong leadership and financial management skills. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Analytics, Business Intelligence and Reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, etc. as well as an understanding of analysis of structured and unstructured data and of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL and analytical databases such as IBM Neteeza. Must be a customer focused and possess strong facilitation, presentation, conflict management, and problem solving and communications skills.
