PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former South Jersey police officer is accused of hacking into the social media accounts of nearly two dozen women — some who were underage — and distributing nude photos they took of themselves.

Ayron Taylor, 24, of Moorestown, is facing a new 97-count indictment, including charges of distribution of child pornography, endangering the welfare of a child, invasion of privacy, and computer theft.

He joined the Mount Laurel police force in October 2021 but was suspended in late 2022 after charges were first filed in this case. He resigned shortly thereafter.

Prosecutors said he hacked into the Snapchat and Facebook accounts of 20 females — some underage — and shared nude images with their contacts. Prosecutors filed child pornography charges because some of the nude photos he accessed were taken before the victims became legal adults.

Authorities said all of the victims had student email addresses through Rowan College at Burlington County. In all, investigators said Taylor illegally accessed 5,000 RCBC email accounts.

School officials have been fully cooperating with investigators.

Taylor’s next court date is scheduled for March 11.
