
Biopharmaceutical company ExecuPharm Inc. must face claims from a former employee that her personal and financial information was exposed in a cyberattack by the hacker group known as Clop.
The former employee can pursue arguments that ExecuPharm was negligent in its handling of such information, according to an opinion issued Thursday from the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
The ruling also let the case move forward with claims that the company was obligated to keep the data safe even though the employee, Jennifer Clemens, left her job before the breach occurred.
