Authorities sought the public’s help Friday to find an Arcadia man convicted of child molestation who fled two decades ago after being released on bail.
According to the FBI, 55-year-old Erik Kristian Moller of Arcadia is wanted for failing to appear at a sentencing hearing in San Luis Obispo on Dec. 18, 2002. Moller was convicted of child molestation for lascivious conduct involving a girl during the years 1997 through 2000.
Moller was usually entrusted to the care of the girl every week during her ages of 10 through 14. He plied her with drugs and alcohol before the molestations, FBI officials said.
A federal bench warrant was issued for Moller on March 19, 2003, for failure to appear in court. The court filed federal charges against him on April 24 of that year for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the United States District Court, Central District of California, and another warrant was issued for his arrest.
Moller was described as white. He stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has blond or brown hair and blue eyes. The FBI released a public image of him for assistance in finding the suspect.
Anyone with information regarding Moller’s whereabouts was urged to contact the FBI at 310-477-6565.
