Forensic Investigator

The MIL Corporation seeks a Forensic Investigator/System Administrator to support a Federal Government client at one of our Washington, DC locations. The Forensic Investigator/System Administrator will support all forensic requests and incidents, litigation requests, internal affairs investigations, and FOIA using EnCase Enterprise as the primary tool for investigations; secondary function will be Data Center Systems Administration functions supporting a network infrastructure.

• Execute necessary searches and investigations for all FOIA, forensic, litigation and internal affairs requests, working with a number of different client entities, to include lawyers and some VIPs; and work within strict deadlines
• Provide secondary support to the Data Center in a Systems Administrator role
• Provide support in resolving complex system issues
• Proactively identify, analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose issues, with the goal of continuous improvement of service delivery
• Assist where needed with System Operations when possible
• Assist with support in deployment and O&M of infrastructure projects as needed

Required Qualifications
• 5 to 7+ years of experience as a forensics investigator and experience/knowledge as a data center system administrator
• Experience with forensic software suites, including EnCase, Forensic Toolkit (FTK), etc.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and host-based forensics fundamentals
• Knowledge of virtual environments and forensic imaging techniques
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows artifacts
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2013, related to extracting/analyzing messaging data/artifacts
• Knowledge of filing systems
• Creative problem solver with knowledge and experience in identifying and resolving complex server and system issues
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Flexibility and ability to think innovatively while meeting/using industry best practices
• Ability to work within a team environment, as well as independently while maintaining a positive attitude
• Detail-oriented technical skills, strong analytical skills, flexibility and the ability to think creatively while meeting/using industry best practices
• The ability to work nights and/or weekends if conditions warrant
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate with high level clients

Desired Qualifications
• ITIL Foundations 2011 v3 Certification
• EnCase Certified Examiner
• Bachelor’s degree or higher

HS/GED; AA/AS or BA/BS desired
