Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Forensics Investigator located in Houston, TX through April 28, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Chevron’s Information Risk Strategy & Management organization is seeking a self-directed professional with forensics experience to fill the open position of IT Forensics Investigator.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

•Conduct computer forensic investigations and provide forensic experience for the team.
•Participate in the development and documentation of forensic standards, procedures, and processes.
•Mentor others on the use of the forensic tools.
•Prepare final reports for external entities such as govt agencies and outside counsel.
•Participate in the architecting and enforcing confidentiality policies and practices.
•Communicates with others regarding possible data privacy issues and compliance requirements.
•Work with an experienced team of forensic and security professionals, attorneys, and corporate partners.
•Provide corporate forensic services (e.g. internal investigations, eDiscovery for law, IRSM investigations, etc.), specifically related to electronic evidence.
•Perform forensics functions to acquire the data in an approved forensics manner, preserve the data as evidence, forensically extract and analyze information (digital data) from any Chevron electronic storage, and guaranteeing its accuracy and reliability for a court of law, if necessary.
•Analyze complex forensic artifacts (e.g. internet history, unallocated/slack space, memory, registry), conduct timeline analysis, and create an investigative report detailing the investigative steps performed and the relevant findings.


Required Qualifications:

•Must have 5 plus years in the digital forensics field.
•Must have Forensic certifications (past or present).
•Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
•Work well in a team environment and detail oriented.
•Strong grasp of technical infrastructure including: PC hardware, Operating system software, network security and system logs, Outlook/Exchange Messaging, and mobile devices.
•Understand or experience in the legalities of performing forensic services; understand data privacy and adhere to it
•Thorough understanding of chain of custody and industry best practices related to evidence handling.
•Must have a working knowledge of the forensic operating procedures during casework.
•Understands and provides input related to the IT Forensics Infrastructure best practices and procedures.
•Utilize approved digital forensic tools and processes to conduct timeline analysis for complex investigations
•Proficient operation of forensic software and hardware including EnCase, FTK, Axiom, Paladin, Tableau write blockers, Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer, and various other forensic programs (or equivalents).
•Demonstrate proper acquisition techniques and analysis of digital evidence.
•Processes evidence and demonstrates proper handling procedures.
•Experience or understanding of testifying in a court of law as a witness for a matter with a digital forensics evidence component.
•Understand IT systems knowledge (Hardware, Software, Network) and electronically stored information (ESI) data sources.
•Understand the Chevron IT Function and IT contacts.
•Experience with handling restricted or highly-confidential issues and information in a business enterprise.
•Communicate and is aware of the impact of breach of confidentiality on corporate reputation and bottom line.
•Experienced foundation of technical expertise, possess strong communication skills, and provide quality results.
•Possess forensic experience and a strong understanding of industry protocols and tools.
•Experience with digital forensic tools and processes to acquire and store electronic artifacts.
Preferred Qualifications:

•Specific experience in locating electronic artifacts and subsequent testifying to the methods and protocols
