A former Sylvania teacher now faces 24 charges – spanning obscene material to sexual contact with a student – following a grand jury indictment, which lists at least eight victims.

Dustin Wade Dalton, 28, of Rainsville, was charged last October with enticing a child for immoral purposes and dissemination of obscene material.

According to an indictment this month by a DeKalb County grand jury, Dalton has been charged with 10 counts of school employee distributing obscene material to a student, four counts of school employee having sexual contact with a student, three counts of first degree sodomy, two counts of sexual abuse, one count of solicitation of sexual contact with a student, one count of school employee attempting sexual contact with a student, one count of attempted sexual abuse and one count of production of obscene material.

Five days after his arrest, his brother Donavan Wayne Dalton, 28, of Rainsville, was charged as a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19. He formerly worked in Fort Payne.

He was indicted this month on charges of sodomy, school employee having sexual contact with a student, and sex with a child more than 12 years old but less than 16, according to court records.
