Free Halloween safety event at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport – St. Mary Medical Center | #childsafety | #kids | #chldern | #parents | #schoolsafey

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport is excited to introduce a new event for adults and children promoting safety during the Halloween season. The event “Don’t Get Spooked! Stay Safe!” takes place Saturday, October 28 from 10 a.m. to noon, and is free and open to the public. The event will be held at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport – St. Mary Medical Community Center at 911 Margaret Place, Shreveport, LA 71101.

Halloween can be a fun, but dangerous, time of year for children and families. It is important to know essential safety information, especially when it comes to costume and traffic safety. According to the National Safety Council, children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween than any other day of the year. Ochsner LSU Health wants to make sure your family is safe and equipped with the knowledge to have a worry-free day of fun this Halloween season.

At Don’t Get Spooked! Stay Safe!, Ochsner LSU Health will combine safety information with Halloween costumes, candy and fun. Children and adults are encouraged to attend dressed in a Halloween costume to play games, trick-or-treat for candy and earn prizes while learning important safety information. There will be several community resource organizations in attendance as well as a station performing child safety seat checks.
