MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Germantown officials said the city has been hit Friday morning by a “malicious cybersecurity incident.”

According to information posted to social media, the city said several systems have been intentionally taken offline for security reasons. They don’t yet know the extent of the incident.

Here’s what this means for residents:

  • 911 lines are operational, according to the city, but many other phone lines are affected.
    • Non-emergency public services can be reached at 901-754-7222 or *54 from a cell phone.
    • An alternative non-emergency line can be reached at 901-754-1414.

This is a developing story and we will update as more information becomes available.
