A man has been jailed after trying to meet someone he thought was a 13-year-old for sex at a bus stop.

Nathan Graham, 29, sent undercover officers posing as a girl “graphic images” of himself via social media.

Graham, of Matson Avenue in Gloucester, was jailed for three years and three months at Swindon Crown Court on Thursday.

Wiltshire police officers said “there can be no place for Graham’s abhorrent behaviour”.

Graham pretended to be an 18-year-old to the undercover officers, and sent maps marking out bus stops and routes as part of his planning for the offences.

He was detained in Bloomsbury Park, Swindon, as he was walking to meet the girl at a bus stop in December 2023.

Graham pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child and attempting to cause a child to watch sexual activity.

‘Harmful sexual predator’

He also pleaded guilty to arranging and facilitating the commission of penetrative sexual activity with a child, and possession of bladed articles in a public place.

Det Con Sarah Greenman said: “Graham was fully aware that he was talking to a girl purported to be just 13, and yet he sent her incredibly graphic images and videos of himself, before attempting to meet her for his own sexual gratification.”

Graham will be on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for 15 years.

Det Insp David Wells from South West Regional Organised Crime Unit’s online investigations team, added: “Graham is a harmful sexual predator that has rightly been handed a significant jail sentence for his crimes.”
