The rise of large language models like ChatGPT and the emergence of low-code no-code platforms have greatly benefited developers, simplifying and accelerating the coding process.

However, Bryan Palma, CEO of cybersecurity firm Trellix, points out a concerning consequence: Hackers are now producing new malware and viruses at an unprecedented pace. This has led to a new kind of arms race, according to a report in The Times of India.

Nevertheless, it’s not all negative. The proactive need to counter cyber threats has sparked a surge of innovative solutions originating from tech hubs worldwide, including India. Moreover, this situation has created lucrative job opportunities for young tech enthusiasts who are contemplating which field to specialize in.

Large cybersecurity companies view India as a key development hub and have a large number of engineering centres in the country.

The majority of Trellix’s 1,750 Indian staff, according to Palma, are based in Bengaluru. TOI in its report quoted him saying, “We are the leader in extended detection and response (XDR), and India is where we are fueling a lot of the development that gives us that competitive advantage in the marketplace. We would not be able to accomplish any of our goals without India.”

Data from many security sources is combined and correlated by XDR across the network, endpoints, cloud environments, and applications of an organisation. In order to find trends and abnormalities that can point to malicious activity, it then makes use of advanced analytics, AI, and ML techniques. In a nutshell, it makes it much simpler to manage the cybersecurity needs of a large business.
