A Philippine cyber-criminal has penetrated a state website using shockingly a simple password “Admin123,” shedding light on the authorities’ bizarre cybersecurity measures.

The leak not only revealed the personal information of millions of Phillipionos but also some of the country’s closely guarded secrets, according to a news report by South China Morning Post (SCMP) on Sunday.

“I’m a hacktivist and I’m angry that these problems have long been known and openly pointed out but the government has done nothing to address them,” a 19-year-old hacker from southern Davao City told This Week in Asia.

The man who goes by the pseudonym DiabloX Phantom claimed to have worked for the Philippine state’s “red team,” a group that picks faults in the government’s cyber security system.
