SC Attorney General Alan Wilson is urging Congress to include Edith’s Bill in covid-19 relief legislation.
Wilson and a bipartisan coalition of 44 attorneys general want Congress to pass the bill amending the Victims of Crime Act.
This will make victims of senior fraud eligible for reimbursement for their losses.
Scammers know that seniors are especially at risk from covid-19.
They target those who are isolated from families and supporters.
Edith’s Bill, or the Edith Shorougian Senior Victims of Fraud Compensation Act will make seniors eligible for money from scam penalties and fines.
