HILLSBORO, Ore. – On June 27, 2023, Aubrey Ryan Quinn-Ward, a 26-year-old resident of Hillsboro, was found guilty of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree by Washington County Circuit Court Judge Eric Butterfield. The verdict was reached following a bench trial, and Deputy District Attorney Conor Jones handled the prosecution.

The case stems from a child predator sting conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on September 2, 2022. The operation aimed to identify individuals willing to engage in sexual activity with children. Undercover detectives assumed the identities of teenage boys and girls on social media platforms associated with child sexual abuse. Posing as a 15-year-old girl, a detective engaged in communication with the Defendant, who expressed an interest in having sex with the girl. He mentioned bringing alcohol and condoms for the encounter. Subsequently, the Defendant arrived at a prearranged location in Beaverton, Oregon, where he was arrested without incident.

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office commends the diligent efforts of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in handling this case.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for July 17, 2023. The Defendant will remain in custody until that time.
