The cheeky nature of those stories prompted me to give one of these hackers a taste of their own medicine by turning the tables on them.

The Hacker News’s detailed “How to Hack Gmail Accounts” tutorial and Avner Coopman’s warning LinkedIn post were devoured by me like an endless pool of knowledge.

Forbes also covered a shocking incident of Chinese hackers stealing data through a fake Gmail login.

Armed with knowledge, I was ready to implement my plan!

Creating the Perfect Bait.

An exciting piece of bait is the best approach to catching a hacker. I wrote an enthusiastic email with the subject line “Congratulations!” since I wanted to mess with them.
