Authorities are investigating an identity theft/fraud case that left a Hutchinson resident with a $1,500 charge on her credit card.

Last week, the victim discovered that a cash advance of $1,500 had been put on her Edward Jones credit card on the 25th of August at Mid-Country Bank. Both she and her husband still have their cards, so authorities say the account information was obtained by other means.

Hutchinson Police say two more attempts were made to get money with the card information at Citizens Bank in Hutchinson. Those were declined. Two more attempts to use the information were denied, one in North Branch at a Nike store and the other at a store in Lansing, Illinois.

Authorities say the name that the suspect used was from identification stolen from an Illinois resident in 2016.

Video footage shows the suspect drove a 2016 Kia Forte registered in Illinois.

Hutchinson Police are working in conjunction with Chicago Police on the investigation
