I’m a Five Guys superfan and my hack can get you a free cheeseburger
- A TikTok video shows how to get complimentary toppings at the chain
- It then explains how to bag a second cheeseburger totally free of charge
- Five Guys tends to be a more expensive option than other fast-food chains
A Five Guys superfan has taken to TikTok to explain how to get a cheeseburger completely free.
User HellthyJunkFood revealed a hack for how customers can buy one cheeseburger at the beloved fast food chain – and get another thrown in.
A regular cheeseburger will set back customers an average of $7.69 – but customization is one of the things that makes the brand particularly appealing.
Diners can choose from 15 free toppings, which they can combine whichever way they want to create their dream meal.
In the video, HellthyJunkFood explains how to take advantage of the complimentary toppings to build your free cheeseburger.

‘At Five Guys a cheeseburger comes standard with two patties and all their toppings are free,’ HellthyJunkFood said in the video.
‘Next time you go to Five Guys order a cheeseburger with all the toppings on the side, and ask for an extra bun. Extra buns are free,’ he explained.
‘Now when you get home you’ll have all your toppings neatly on the side, and with your extra bun, you can dress both of your burgers exactly the way you like.’
While it’s a beloved food chain, Five Guys tends to be a more expensive option than other fast-food establishments.
One disgruntled woman was shocked when she had to fork out $74 for an order, asking on TikTok ‘when did Five Guys become a five star restaurant?’
User RetailCheapskate revealed in a video watched more than 2.9 million times that she had to pay $74 for an order including four burgers, two fries and drinks.
Her receipt showed the woman had ordered two ‘little’ cheeseburgers, two regular fries, two bacon cheeseburgers, a large soda, and three regular sodas.

Prices vary across the country, but a bacon cheeseburger would set you back as much as $13.09 at the Times Square restaurant in New York, while regular fries cost $6.69.
McDonald’s fries, on the other hand, tend to cost around the $3 mark.
Earlier this year, the chain, which was founded in Arlington County, Virginia, in 1986, explained why its prices are higher than other fast food joints.
Speaking to The Rakyat Post, Iain Ross-Mackenzie, Director Of Operations-APAC at Five Guys International, explained that the fresh ingredients and the fact that customers can customize their orders to the extreme are some of the reasons behind the brand’s prices.
He added that the company also specializes in providing an all-American experience, which is why its menu is the same all around the world.
‘Customer choice is really important to us. We want to put control back in the consumer’s pocket,’ Ross-Mackenzie said.
The way the brand sources its ingredients also adds to the price tag at the till. ‘Nothing in store is frozen. We only ever use fresh ingredients,’ he explained.
