Never too late to inspire someone right? Let me give you a run down of what I got from this session.
#Techisthenewblack podcast hosted by Cyrus hairbin and his guest was Tolulope Michael Who is Tolu and why am I talking about him today, well it’s just to inspire someone out there
Tolu Tolulope Michael is a Nigerian now in the US. According to him he was born in Nigeria but made in the US
He started as an administrative officer to becoming a delivery guy for Amazon and dash door also became an Uber driver and worked for several factories.
That’s a lot mehn.
Tolu is now a millionaire thanks to cybersecurity but it didn’t start like play play o
What were the helping factors for him
The helping factor……..
A church member that he knew who was well to do and do give out to people approached him and they had a conversation….
It was from him he got that push towards CS and while he started working towards that he was also working as an Uber driver.
(CS — cybersecurity)
So, about 12 hours of Uber driving and some hours of studying everyday and doing this for about 4 months?
Not easy o
Back to Tolu now
After 4 months from that time of doing Uber and studying he applied to 3 companies and he got all three.
One in the airline industry, Bank and an E-commerce firm.
He started out as a pentester in the company he later decided upon.
I forgot to mention that he did lots of ‘hackthebox’ to train himself during his study. I’m sure it really helped in his pentesting skills
One of the drives
One of the drives for him was seeing people much younger than him being software engineer and getting a good salary while he was still driving Uber. Today, Tolu is a pentester having his own firm also in the cybersecurity industry.
Well, even though he might have not been consistently consistent with his study time but I’m sure he showed up everyday no matter how little.
So, you too show up everyday no matter how little.
I gathered this story for several beginners trying to move into the cybersecurity industry and I hope my summary will keep you on your toes and always learning I’m Agape, a cybersecurity enthusiast.
Do well to support my posts, I’ll appreciate
