Around 30 people have been arrested by Nuh police in cybercrime cases, officers said. According to officials, the crackdown was conducted with the assistance of the Pratibimb app, and the operation resulted in the seizure of 50 mobile phones and 90 fake SIM cards.

During the special operation, conducted over two days, police raided various locations, based on cases registered against them at Nuh Cyber police station. These cyber criminals engaged in online fraud by using fake documents to purchase online items, creating fake social media profiles, fake bank accounts, sextortion, enticing people with lucrative ads for purchasing animals, and advertisements for making pencils, among other methods, said police.

Inspector Vimal Rai, SHO, Cyber Crime police station, stated that the identification of some criminals involved in cyber crimes in different parts of the country was made possible through the Pratibimb app. The operation was conducted over Saturday and Sunday and all police station managers/officers, CI units/staff, and separate teams of Nuh Cyber Police, including Cyber Cell Nuh, raided the locations of cyber criminals and apprehended them.

The Pratibimb app, launched this year, has proven effective in apprehending cybercriminals, police said. Rai said that this campaign will continue to apprehend more criminals.

Superintendent of Police, Nuh, Narendra Bijarnia, issued a stern warning to cybercriminals, urging them to cease cyber crime, failing which “Nuh Police will deal with them rigorously”.
