SUMMARY:
The IT Support Specialist is a
resource person and first contact within the organizational unit for troubleshooting most computer hardware and software issues. This
position requires a technical professional that is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT systems; has
extensive knowledge of information technologies and systems; and has the ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide great customer
service, taking ownership of all IT related issues.
The Specialist may also conduct basic one-on-one and small group training on
the use of typical office software, or specialized applications used, such as Salesforce and FirstHand. This is the specialized support work
requiring knowledge of computer hardware and software that is typically used in a desktop environment by end users. Some basic knowledge and
troubleshooting of networks and servers may also be required. The duties include, but are not limited to updating the National Academy of
Inventors’ website and webpages; updating member directories; helping with desktop setup; resolving software issues for Microsoft Office
products, Salesforce, and other programs; data cleaning in Salesforce; serving as Salesforce administrator and making updates to codes,
reports, and other improvements as needed.
DUTIES:
Salesforce:
- Clean up of the
duplicate and redundant fields as they are discovered; - Updating the Salesforce Mobile App fields to maximize user
experience; - Create complex reports for program leads and leadership;
- Data clean up via reports to identify empty fields and
incorrect data; - Changes to the Nomination applications code;
- Ongoing improvements in use of software
- Help users with
Issues connecting to Salesforce Add-in to log emails.
Internal Support:
- Help with physical set-up, move and changes
to PCs - Helping with employee user setup for remote work
- Support colleagues with IT issues through
troubleshooting
Website:
- Make updates to the web pages for the programs as needed
- Update directories as new
fellows and seniors are added - Be able to help the office personnel with issues with Website errors
GAIN:
Support the platform and respond to all inquiries from internal and external users
update the system to improve efficiency and
effectiveness
Training or Ad-Hoc Items:
Conduct staff trainings on internal software applications; complete other
ad-hoc assignments related to IT as needed. Keep up to date with the latest technologies and ensure we are using the best versions of
current software/products
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
- This
position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with four years of experience in related positions. - Appropriate college
coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required
experience.
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology; Computer Science; Computer
Engineering; Information Science; Information Systems; Data Mining and 1-3 years related experience.
